Contact us
Report an error, ask a question about a note or suggest a topic. We read every message and reply by email.
Found an error? Tell us — corrections come first.
How can you reach us?
Use the form below. Corrections get the highest priority: tell us which page, which sentence and, if you can, the source that shows the correct figure. We cannot give personal investment advice or comment on a specific investment.
What happens to your message?
Your message is stored in a database on our hosting provider so that we can read and answer it. We use your email address only to reply. See the privacy policy for how long we keep messages and how to ask us to delete yours.
What makes a correction easy to check?
- The page address (copy the link with the link button under the title).
- The exact sentence or number you think is wrong.
- A link to a primary source — a regulator, statistics agency or official document — that shows the correct figure.
- Whether the problem is a factual error, an outdated figure or a confusing explanation.
We reply to every correction, fix confirmed errors quickly and note the change on the page.
What can we not help with?
We cannot tell you whether to buy, sell or hold any investment, review your portfolio, recommend a broker or exchange, or help recover money lost to a scam. If you think you have been defrauded, contact your national securities regulator or the police; in the U.S., the SEC and FINRA both accept tips and complaints online.
